Across schools, systems and leadership teams, there is a growing recognition that the quality of our conversations shapes the quality of our thinking, collaboration and impact. In 2027, educators across the region will have the opportunity to engage in the internationally recognised Cognitive Coaching Foundation Seminar at the International School of Phnom Penh — a transformative professional learning experience designed to strengthen coaching, leadership and reflective practice. Developed by Dr Art Costa and Dr Robert Garmston, Cognitive Coaching has transformed the leadership and coaching practice of educators around the world for more than 40 years. The program is designed to develop the skills, mindsets and dispositions needed to support others in becoming more self-directed, reflective and resourceful in their work. Facilitated by internationally respected educator and leadership coach Gavin Grift, this learning experience offers practical tools and powerful frameworks for leading conversations that build trust, mediate thinking and inspire meaningful growth.   The seminar will be delivered in two parts across 2027:

• Days 1–4 will be offered 3 to 6 February 2027
• Days 5–8 will be offered from 29 September to 2 October 2027

This structure allows participants to build strong foundational coaching skills before extending into more advanced coaching practices and applications. Cognitive Coaching is designed for educators, leaders, coaches and anyone passionate about supporting the growth of others through thoughtful dialogue and reflective practice. Participants consistently describe the experience as transformational — not only for how they coach others, but for how they lead, listen and communicate every day.
