SUMMARY:Stretching at our collaborative edges
DESCRIPTION:Collaboration is one of the most frequently used words in educa
 tion and\, in some ways\, the least taught. Our ability to collaborate and 
 our willingness to engage respectfully with one another matter for the heal
 th of the school and the collective well-being of all within it.\nHow do we
  stretch ourselves at our learning edges to become the best value-add team 
 members? How do we communicate well with one another in service of our stud
 ents? This two-day workshop will focus on the inner capacities (emotional r
 egulation\, self-awareness\, suspension of certainty) as well as external c
 apabilities (responsibility of one's communications\, engaging in value-add
 ed team behaviours) that help us all collaborate on whichever teams one sit
 s. Participant Outcomes:Ability to understand research around relational tr
 ust and psychological safety\, and how communication affects team cultureAb
 ility to take our 'knowing' of value-add team behaviours (listening\, pausi
 ng\, paraphrasing) and create self-created scaffolds so that 'doing' those 
 behaviours is consistentAbility to better name real issues on teams and han
 dle tensions and challenging conversations more humanely and effectivelyAbi
 lity to suspend certainty in real time — recognise my way is 'a way not a
 lways the' wayAbility to repair when there is a misstepAbility to self-regu
 late more often and access tools to better support the goal to not interrup
 t\, escalate or shut down when triggered\n\n
